Join us after coffee hour on November 13 for a talk with Salvadoran student leader Fran Omar. Fran, who is now a grad student in social work at El Salvador’s National University, will be visiting Boston as part of a national tour sponsored by the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador. He will be updating us about the situation in El Salvador in light of the continuing “state of exception” in which 56,000 mostly young people have been arrested and held, without due process, in overcrowded prisons. Two youths from our sister community of Plazuelas have been arrested in these sweeps.
