Accompaniment Is Its Own Journey

How might our journey be transformed if it included walking with those on the other side of the movement of people that threatens to tear our country apart?

We will explore this question in a lay-led service organized by the Social Action Committee and the group exploring a “sister” relationship between Theodore Parker Church and the community of Plazuelas, El Salvador. March 24 happens to be the anniversary of the murder of the beloved Salvadoran martyr, Oscar Arnulfo Romero. We will combine elements of the Salvadoran “campesino Mass” with familiar Unitarian Universalist fare to recall Romero’s legacy and connect that legacy to TPC’s exploration of connection with Plazuelas.  Beth Bauer and Kevin Murray will offer reflections on their recent trip to El Salvador. Join us to rise from your seat, learn some Spanish songs,  and imagine the power of “walking alongside.”
