Easter Sunday Worship: Loving the Questions – April 8, 2012

Rev. Lilli Nye offers a reflection on “Loving the Questions,” drawing inspiration from the famous quote from Rilke’s Letters to A Young Poet (“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart…”) and from the image of the mysteriously empty tomb that abruptly ends the Gospel of Mark. Patience toward “all that is unsolved” can mean endurance, steadfastness, compassion, and acceptance balanced with hope. It is a spiritual virtue lauded in all religions, and while it may not be the answer to all things, it is usually a necessary prerequisite to them. We begin the service with the children in the sanctuary for a “Time For All Ages.” Guest flutist Jessi Rosinski performs with pianist Yukiko Takagi.
