A Short History of Humanism in Unitarian Universalism
Unitarian Universalism is a faith tradition that emerged from Christianity, yet today our congregations are full of humanists, agnostics, and atheists.
Guest preacher Rev. Bob LaVallee will explore how that happened and what spiritual lessons we might learn from the process.
Rev. LaVallee attended Meadville Lombard Theological School and was ordained by First UU of Niagara in 2018. He’s done chaplain training at the VA Hospital in New York City and at Catholic Health Services of Western New York, working in substance abuse, mental health, hospice, ER, and ICU. He currently serves South Valley UU Society in Salt Lake City, Utah as interim minister. After a failed attempt when he was nine years old, he has taken up the piano again and is really good at Clementine.
