With the month’s major holiday festivities still ahead of us, this period of anticipation has its own rewards for those who are attentive, including the possibility of settling into the dark and listening for the faint sounds and signals that often get overlooked. We can use this time of waiting, says the Rev. Anne Bancroft, to prepare for changes to come, when we will combine our light with those of others to shine into places that might need our attention.
