Our theme for December is receptivity: that is, how we are open to receiving the gifts of the season, and beyond. For the first service of the month, we visit a familiar Advent hymn, and consider whom we are seeking to welcome. Who or what, for us, does Emmanuel represent? How we might offer that welcome to others? In that context, we consider the idea of becoming a Sanctuary Church.
