For our nine summer gatherings, we draw on an ancient spiritual practice called Lectio Divina. At each gathering, we will read a short text by Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. With periods of silence before and between, we will read each text multiple times and allow ourselves to deepen in relationship to it each time. In stillness and silence, we listen — listen with the ear of the heart, and not with the mind. We allow these voices to touch us, perhaps change us, perhaps ignite a deep resonance or calling within us. Through this process, we also listen to our deepest selves, Source, Spirit — whatever grounds, defines, and holds us. We hear what is longing to be heard, but may be missed in our need to also act. We seek to find the common ground, perhaps the unity, in our being as both spiritual selves and justice seekers.
