The Holy Parts of Life – June 16, 2013

Rev. Phyllis B. O’Connell leads the last service of the church year.  Her homily addresses the age-old question, “When evil flourishes, where is God?”  Phyllis offers her own UU response.

As always in our final service we  celebrate Flower Communion, a ritual inspired by Norbert Capek, a Unitarian minister in Prague at the beginning of WW II, to acknowledge the religious diversity in his congregation.  For continuing to celebrate religious freedom, Dr. Capek experienced the evil that flourished in his land at that time when he was imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp.
