This service is led by Rev. Phyllis B. O’Connell. So many people turned away or were indifferent to the genocide of the Holocaust, but many stepped up and some risked their own lives to save others. UU minister Waitstill Sharp and his wife Martha were two of the people who, at great risk, helped rescue Jews and others from Nazi occupied countries.
Following the service, Phyllis and the Social Action Committee show the new documentary called Two Who Dared that includes interviews with people the Sharps rescued who at the time were children and are now in their 80′s.
