We’ll celebrate our annual intergenerational “Rising Sap Communion” on the theme of “relearning the language of the earth.” The Tower of Babel story begins with the words “The whole world had one language and a common speech.” Although the story of a common language is mythological, in ancient times, human beings were more attuned to the language of the earth and the earth’s creatures and plants than we are today. Humanity needs to relearn that language so that all living beings, human and otherwise, can have a viable future.
