Since we can’t “pass the plate” in our online services, we have enabled a convenient Text to Give function, a service of our secure Breeze church management system.
Before using this tool, you will need to enter some information. After initial set-up, all your information is saved (securely!) for the next time.
NOTE: The Text to Give function is currently configured only for donations to the unrestricted general fund and the FY21 Holiday Appeal. It is not enabled to make pledge payments or donations to capital campaigns. Please use the online functions in Breeze or your usual methods of payment (such as check or ACH bank transfer) for those contributions.
- From your phone, text the word Update to 857-425-3798: This is TPC’s unique Text to Give number.
- The first time you donate by text, you will get a message that says “Your phone is not set up to give by text. Text ‘give’ to get started.”
- After texting ‘give’, you will get a reply that says “How much would you like to give?” Text back a number, without a dollar sign. If you are donating to the Holiday Appeal, enter ‘holiday’ after the number (e.g. 50 holiday).
- After you text the amount of your donation, you will be sent this message: “It looks like you are a new giver: https://brze.app/cabcfa.” Click this link. You will be instructed to select either a credit/debit card or ACH (electronic funds withdrawal from your bank) as your method of text giving. (Note: this field is a pull-down menu; click it to see the ACH option.) Have your card ready, with the expiration date and security code, OR your bank routing number and account number. Enter this information. It will be stored for future text giving.
- Once you have entered your payment information, you will get a message that says, “You have successfully registered this phone and completed your donation. To give in the future, simply text ‘give’ to this number.”
- After you text a donation, you will receive an automated email reply thanking you for your donation.
- You may register more than one phone to text to give, but each phone must be set up separately.
